As I continue to cultivate my little plot of cyberspace, caring for and nurturing my Tribe of Twitter followers, I ran across an absolute treasure trove of resources for writers of eBooks.  It is so significant that I am devoting this entire post to more widely distribute it to my loyal blog followers.

My heart-felt thanks to the author, Colleen Cunningham, who is the Senior Book Designer for Adams Media, a division of F+W Media.  As she states in her post, “Digital book design may be a fairly new skill to most print book designers and production managers, but those who want to learn how to create an ePub eBook are in luck: there’s a wealth of resources on the web.

Of the three primary eBook formats — ePub, Kindle, and PDF — there’s no question of which ones present the bigger challenge to a print designer. While a PDF file is an exact replica of the print document, ePub and Kindle files are downloadable, zipped websites that use CSS and HTML to format content. Every print designer thinking about digital publishing has probably asked, “How much code do I really need to learn?”

Read her complete post,  InDesign to Ebook: Resources.  Further, as you have the time, dig into her archive for more excellent advice and tools, collected in one place for your convenience.
